Have you ever bought onions or other fresh vegetables and found you could not eat them all before they started to go bad? Don't waste them! Just clean and chop the vegetables. Then place them in Zippered freezer bags and freeze. These are great for use as steamed veggies, veggies for in soups / casseroles, or added to cooked meats. You can use the frozen chopped onions for meals such as fajitas, philadelphia cheese steaks, or liver and onions.
These are very handy when your making meals in a hurry. (hint: If you find you have veggies left off your relish tray just slip them in your freezer bag). Fresh Produce is great source of vitamins and minerals but can be costly. They don't hold for a long time in the refridgerator. Dehydrating these vegetables is great but can be take a lot of time and money for only a few veggie at a time. These work well in any recipe that calls for frozen veggies.
